This intensive course addresses all the necessary skills for planning and managing projects of all types and sizes. Essential Skills for Managing Projects is ideal for new project managers and to-be managers as a first introduction to project management. Attendees practice participative project management techniques during the exercises on one case study. As an option, teams and/or individuals may work on their own projects (completing real work) while learning a team-based, participative approach to project management. This course uses tools and techniques from Total Quality Management and Six Sigma, which help to increase team effectiveness and participation in all phases of the project management process. This course includes participant workbook and a copy of the best selling book, The Project Management Memory Jogger - a Pocket Guide for Project Teams.
